Why Learn Russian ?

  • Russian is one of the critical languages to the United States. Learn more about the U.S. Study Abroad program
     

  • It is spoken not only in Russia, but all-over Central Asia and in many parts of Eastern Europe. 
     

  • Russian is the eighth most widely spoken native language, with over 150 million first-language speakers. About 110 million people speak it as a second language.
     

  • Career opportunities exist in government agencies, such as the U.S. Department of State,  the Department of Commerce, the Department of Justice, and the Department of Defense and in some commercial firms.

Beginner's Russian for adults will start on October 19th 2024 with a 16-week Introduction to Russian course.

  • All classes meet once a week for an hour. Homework is assigned every week. 

  •  Introduction to Russian covers reading rules, cursive writing, basic grammar, conversation and vocabulary.
