Palace Bridge

This summer I travelled back to my beloved St Petersburg. It has been a long time since I saw famous drawbridges of St Petersburg at night. Likely, this year I was in St Petersburg during White Nights and enjoyed the view of Palace bridge. Length: 250 meters; width - 27.8 meters.

Palace bridge was built in the beginning of the 20th century and opened to the public in December of 1916. Until its construction, two oldest and central areas of St Petersburg were connected by a pontoon bridge or boats. This was inconvenient and the city administration received many requests to built a permanent bridge.
